Bharti Kher premiers at Parasol Unit with the most thought-provoking exhibition I’ve seen all year.

Bharti Kher crams Parasol Unit with a bizarre array of works ranging from a life-size fibreglass elephant to a nine tonne cubicle made entirely out of melted glass bangles. The works are aesthetically astounding before even delving into their deeply powerful conceptuality which deals with ideas and ideals of femininity within the artist’s native India.

This exhibition is by far one of the most thought-provoking collections of work I have seen: Bharti Kher’s works are expertly executed, aesthetically striking and conceptually potent – a must see.

And, if you aren’t too exhausted after all Bharti Kher has to offer then pop over toParasol Unit’s very convenient next-door-neighbour Victoria Miro who will be hosting Harvest by Elmgreen and Dragset from the 21st September; a cultural day out in lovely Angel.
